Well, looky looky, would ya?! I received an email from an old blog friend, Kathryn, who said she missed my blogging. Pair that with the fact that I have 29,000 pics on my phone and about 80% of them have not been blogged, and I realize, I have some stories to tell!!
I have every intention of going back to the John Maxwell Event and catching back up from there, but for tonight, let me post some pics of our annual trip to the pumpkin patch. I remember when Ellie and Gabs were little bitty, I swore I'd pay them to go to the pumpkin patch every year, all the way til college if they'd just go with me every year. And this year, we went to a new patch! It had a hay maze, which was sort of fun for something new. We also took Lizzie Girl with us, so she got to experience the patch too.
Ellie picked out the biggest pumpkin she could find. We took it home and told Todd we wanted him to help us carve it. He found this pillow on my back porch, and thought this would make a good face. Ummm... NO!
I looked on Pinterest and found something that i felt would be cute and simple enough for Todd to master.
The girls were mesmerized.
If we ever have carved before, I can't really recall it. Usually, we just sit pumpkins all around for decorations.... not actually carve that sucker.
Daddy was serious about his work!
And here's the result. If I'd known it was going to turn out so well, I think I might've chosen a more intricate design.
I mean, Todd the Bod has got SKILZ!
He even went inside and found a big ol' candle to burn on the inside.
Ta daaaaahhhh.... The Groves family has an official jack-o-lantern.
And they could not be happier.
Thank you, Todd, for being such a great girl daddy and doing all the things that you know make all three of your girls so happy. There will come a day that they won't be interested in things like this, so it means a lot that we are all gathered on the back porch for now, making memories.
And taking ironic photos! This was a total accident!
For now, at seven and eight years old, I still get my pumpkin patch pics, and I am GRATEFUL for that!
I'm back!

Todd does rock at pumpkin carving! Was it Ellie that was propped over a pumpkin when she was little? Thank you for the wonderful pictures!
