One of the funnest nights of the year, to me anyway, in Louisiana, is Mardi Gras parade. And we are in NORTH Louisiana, where the parades are teeny tiny compared to south Louisiana. I am so grateful to our friends, the Normans, for always welcoming us to their restaurant, which gives us a front row (and not very crowded) view of all the action.
I dug through closets until I found all the purple, gold, and green outfits that I could muster.
And do you think they are feeling pretty rad, or what?!
Once we got settled in, we looked across the road, pre-parade, and looky here who we found. I took a pic of Madi and her big brother. Can you even BELIEVE that Staci has a 19 year old and a 6 year old?!
He was the first one to make me a "Mo", and he will always have a special place in my heart!
We invited a couple of special people to join us too. KK is always a very welcome surprise to my girls!! As the night wore on, Gabbi just wanted to be held by KK. And mama was A-OK with that!!
Lawd have mercy at this pose-fest!!
The parade is just fun!! It is a no holes barred kind of atmosphere... men with tails on walkers. Women in funky outfits on skates.
Oh. Wait. HEY, Jake!! (I'm telling you, the number of times I see the 11th minute of the hour per day is UNCANNY!! He's trying to tell me something! Maybe just EXPLORE on, MO!)
And then the floats started coming.
ANd floats mean one thing... BEADS!!
John Wesley, KK's husband, and my right hand therapy guy at MMPT, also came in really, really handy as the night wore on, and Ellie Sue wanted a shoulder view!! More pics on that tomorrow.
Todd pretty much held down the back row. I think he just likes the scenery. Oh. And the beer.
And that's the other half of the Normans, Richard, above, facing away from Todd. Anyone in town looking for a great place to eat?! Check out The Mohawk. GREAT food!!
Bingo number tonight... M-3. Good luck!
More Mardi Gras tomorrow!
Mo

The stars are lining up....I have this number, too!!! Your girls are a hoot :-)
Count down until March retreat is ON!!!!
Love all the poses by the girls. Can't believe how grown up Hunter has gotten. I'm sure Staci never expected to have such a range in ages of her children. What a blessing. Then again I'm sure you never expected motherhood to come later in life then most your friends and family. But again what a blessing those girls are. I'm sure you enjoyed Gabbi having someone dale to hang on. Sometimes being the choose none can be a little overwhelming. Sad I never received a bingo card but sure enjoying all the extra blogging going on.
I have a 3! 4 out of 5 numbers, now if they were all in the same row...
Your comment about Hunter made me smile tonight. What originally drew me to you and your blog were your posts on Jake's site when you weren't a mom yet. Your relationship and love for your nephews reminded me of the relationship I had with mine. Over the years my crew has grown to 7 total nieces and nephews - and they are all very special to me. Ben though is my "Hunter" - he once asked me if I loved him the best - I replied I loved you first and you will always hold that distinction.
Why didn't you receive one?! Did you request one? If so, I'll get you caught up and just play it from here. I'll screenshot it for you so you can play along. Sorry!!
Good, diplomatic Aunt answer!!
Hooray! My first number... I have had my washi tape (in lieu of a dobber) poised and ready, but couldn't tape over a number until tonight.
It is so wild seeing Hunter so grown up. It makes me pause and reflect how much we have all changed, evolved, and grown since those CaringBridge days.
Love all the pictures!!!! Warmed my heart to see the one of you & Hunter. On Bingo, I'm down to needing only 1 number, (excited!!!!)
I'm not sure. I've sent a few emails to you that I'm not sure if they are going through (haven't gotten replies)
I think my dang bingo is a lemon! Not a single number!!! LOL
still just one number on my lucky card. I think it was a miracle that you hooked up with Madi and Hunter with that crowd. Love the girls posing -
Well at least my free space is covered!!!!! DANGIT!
I can't believe Hunter is 19! He is a very handsome young man. I think one of the first pictures I ever saw of the boys was the beach one (they all had dark t-shirts on) posted on Jake's Caring Bridge site. How long ago was that?
Mo, you always have a great time, doing what ever you do. Hunter is a cutie!!! And no I do not have todays number :( I am not lucky at all.
Sending Hugs, Karen
Jake was about 3, I'd think, so Hunter was 11 and Hayden was 9.
Still no numbers!
I have another number...they are just all over the board. It's been fun playing!
I can't believe that Hunter and Hayden are all grown up...I'm glad you got the pic of Hunter. We haven't seen him in awhile!
Looks like everyone had a blast at Mardi Gras. What fun times y'all have!
I have this number on my card, too. I've gotten three of the numbers, so far. :-)
