Ok only a few more of the BAH

Have I mentioned that I really, really, really love my floors? I was going to stain them, but at last minute decided that they looked really cool and all authentic like, being "raw". Sooo.....And here is our completed fireplace. However, yesterday, Todd put the shelves in the bookshelves, so now it looks even more move-in ready!

Ok, so I was trying to get all creative like on my kitchen counters, and I am NOT liking the results. I think I may have the painters just go full on black! Interestingly, they were once black, then I had them paint them brown so I could do a "treatment" on them, and now... ummm... back to black please! I wanted the orange of the dining room to come through and be carried over into the kitchen.
We have our appliances in the kitchen, although they are quite smudgy at the moment. Susan, will this be sufficient for our retreat cooking? I have been getting back in the mode to start thinking toward art retreats! Now, we have a place to actually sleep!
Oh, and I had this mantle over the fireplace made specifically for a big ol' family portrait. Todd thought it was for him to set his beer on when he was cooking. He was sadly mistaken! And peek inside the edges of the mantle... they are the exact size Todd needs for his spices for easy access when he is cooking.
You've seen it a lot, but here's another view of Todd's ManCave! See that window? It is a pocket window which means it slides all the way into the wall for FULL access to bloody marys through the window when outside.
I am working on Todd letting me change this stupid, expensive fixture. I picked it,but think it is more suited for a vessel sink (that sits atop the counter.) It is too tall for a sunken sink. I want the same one, but shorter.
This is the 1/2 bath's chandelier, and matches the "nest" one in the dining room exactly.
Have I showed you my floors in my art room? I LOVE black and white, and well, I think checks are overdone, so I went with STRIPES! Gotta admit... it's different!
And I now have my hardware on the drawers, but the drawers themselves need some serious cleaning!
My two little monkeys are LOVING the art room so far. Know why? Because I am in there!
And where mama goes, there goes the party! The countdown is on. I'd say not this weekend but next!!

I really like the kitchen cabinets and I agree on the fixture for the sink. I love that fixture, but, it needs to be shorter.

I am so excited for ya'll!!

I love the new house (haven't posted on here in a while!!). Is the black and white floor some kind of special treatment? (like painted concrete?)

Someone quick ~ hand me a rag ~ I need to wipe the drool that just leaked as I look at these absolutely gorgeous BAH pictures!! So happy for ya'll, the new house look's amazing ~ just perfect!! You always say how little Ellie is ~ but I cannot believe how miniature she look's in front of that HUGE fireplace! I also love the sink faucet, but agree it is too tall. Cannot wait to hear more on the art retreat ~ hoping I can make it down!!

WOW! Your house is looking gorgeous. I love how you've personalized every room and really given each one it's own character, yet they all tie in beautifully! I absolutely love homes (any shape or size) that do not look straight "off the rack". Hang in there - you'll be settled before you know it and making new memories!
