Happy Birthday, Jin!

Today is all about Jinnie!
It is her birthday!

And because she has been such a good mom and such a sweet and helpful grandmother, she gets a post dedicated only to her!

Mom hardly misses a "special" occasion. And I don't just mean the over-the-top holiday things (Easter extravaganzas, major Valentine's gifts, shoot, even a Halloween treat for everyone), but also being there for the first day of dance, or to make sure swimming lessons are going well, or that everyone has a ride to therapy! She also swoops in to save the day with a "spend the night with Jin" night or a quick ride up to McDonald's just to get them out and give ol' Mel a little relief! I love how mom celebrates everything!

I always say I get my "strength" from her.

I know that Staci and I are independent women because of how our mom raised us. There is very little that we are actually afraid to try. She very much instilled in us a sense of fearlessness and courage.

Mom has NUMEROUS college degrees, and if I am not mistaken, was still edu-macating well into her 50's. She certainly taught us the value of education, working hard, and basically, reaping what you sow! I am very thankful for learning a good work ethic from my mom.

Mom also taught us compassion and generosity. She'd gladly give someone her last nickel if she thought it could make their life better.

So mom, enjoy your special day! You have done your job well. Run a good race! You have a happy, healthy family who loves you very much!
