Gabbi Girl is learning!

I'm. SOooo. Tired!  I know, I need to keep my mouth shut!  I just took a MONTH off work, and I am saying I am tired!  I need to shut my big mouth, don't I?!

These girlies are both mama's girls!  They both want me pretty much all the time.  Gabbi... on my lap or my hip!  ANd Ellie, just craves and demands my attention!  I was cleaning one area today and went into the closet only to find that she had emptied the bottom bar of EVERY single hanger on it!  SO, as I am thinking about working on that, she is clanging around all of my jewelry into the den!
And let's not forget the TWO bottles of juice she poured on the kitchen floor this evening and the full box (mini box, thank God!) of Cocoa Krispies on the den floor.  ANd Miss Jean was JUST here today!  She did the floors, but oh well...
To all those who say "treasure this time".  Hmmmph!  I wonder!  Ellie is going to be the death of me.  She takes some seriously HIGH energy!  Gabbi, too, these days only because she ONLY wants good ol' mom!  That plays nicely into Dad's time with the Golf Channel!  It does not play nicely into my cleaning the house for Lindsay who is coming to the Shake and staying with me this weekend!
Shall I just shut up now?!

Let me say that our community is so cool!  Everybody in our town that I asked for a donation to the Shake for Jake auction has come through!  I think the Foundation has pre sold more tickets than in any year prior.  We have added several new activities this year... Including...
a 5K run.  We made stickers today that said, "I jogged for Jake". How cute is that?! and we are sticking them on little water jugs too.  Such a cute idea, STACI!
Oh, and then there is a golf tournament (Teed off at Cancer) on Friday.  We have a pretty full docket for a 1/2 day tournament.  Todd the Bod is in charge of that one.  I have a team, and I rounded up a couple of chicks to play with me yesterday.  One, I just happened to see at the grocery store last night and noticed a visor and golf shirt.  I asked her if she played golf and she said yes.  So, I think she is my third!  It is a 3 man scramble!

and of course, there is Jake's Jamboree which is from 9am -2 pm on Saturday morning.  There are jumpers, slides, face painting, hair painting, crafts (we are making Believe necklaces!), and more.  It is a whole weekend of fun!

Oh, and here is one more thing.  During the Jamboree, there will be a telethon going on inside.  We need lots of pledges.  If you wish you could make the it to the Shake, but just don't see how it is possible, this is how you can help.  You could email me your phone number (since I doubt those of you in Oregon or Minnesota are going to be getting our local station) and I can get Todd the Bod or JinJin or me, or Don to call you during the live show and ask for a pledge.  It is your option, obviously, on how big or little that pledge will be.  Anyhoo... email me at mgroves11@comcast.net and leave your info, and someone will call you during the telethon.  Pretty cool, huh?

This weekend is the Foundation's one and only major fundraiser of the year.  The Foundation is gaining speed and is helping people now from even different conntinents, (but who are getting treatment in the US).  They are giving monies to families from just about every pediatric hospital in the country!).  Jake's sweet little name lives on!  YAY!
And by the way, how bout my cute Gabbi Girl pics?!  Thanks, Lindsay for this cute outfit.!  I really need to buy a monogram machine.  But I do not need one more hobby!

Consider the telethon!  And I am trying to figure out who was number 500 on the Followers!  ANybody know how to figure that out?!  Or if you know you were number 500, let me know!
Melanie, Mo, MOM!

Your family amazes me with how dedicated you all are in helping other families that are stricken in dealing with childhood cancer.I won't be home on Saturday;but can I have an address to send my pledge to? Thank you
You convinced me to come out of my shell on this one. I've donated before to Caringbridge families and not a one ever acknowledged it and I knew it reached them.I swore off that type of helping and decided to maintain a few other charities that phone me. I am amazed at your family and want to help you reach others in need.

I love Gabbi's outfit! So cute! I didn't know there was such thing as a monogramming machine! LOL. Anyway, Shake for Jake sounds awesome. I would love to go to that!

Gabbi sure knows how to bring joy to everyone who sees her! What a sweetheart. Her outfit is adorable!

That Ellie...she makes me laugh out loud! Sounds like she's gonna keep you hopping for a looooong time, Mel. LOL

Have a great weekend with Shake for Jake. I'm so happy that Lindsay's gonna be staying with you, but feeling a little jealous that I'm not there. :-) Give Lindsay some extra hugs from me, okay?

Blessings...

Wish I could be there for the Shake but traveling isn't an option right now. I am aiming for Memphis in December. Love Gabbi's outfit. I had an Ellie once---her name is Kiereney and she kept me going. What am I saying? She STILL keeps me going at almost 23. At least when they're active, we know they're healthy.

Reality bites, doesn't it, Mo?!? The beach for a month is much more FUN!!!!

It sounds like everything is coming together for the Shake! Gosh, I wish I could be there! How fun for you and Lindsey to get to hang out, especially for such a great cause!!

Lovin' these pictures of Miss Smiley Face! I swear, I would just love to squeeze her!!!

What a doll baby - that Gabbi Girl - and look at her on those hands and knees and that grin! Can't help but make your heart melt and your spirits soar....HOWEVER, MO, you have every right to be tired. You may have been off work (from the clinic) but you certainly were not OFF WORK from the mom end of things when you were at the beach. You were movin' and shakin' and runnin' after babies and entertainin' and just not still for very many minutes - or at least that is what it seemed like and from one who years and years ago chased after a couple of small girlie girls on trips (they are not vacations when you have your babies with you - they are trips away from home - wonderful times - but a vacation is when you can plop your bottom in a chair, with a drink and not think of a thing except what is my next drink or my next meal or my next nap)- I know how you need a vacation to recover from the vacation (er, trip) - These are precious times but exhausting times - it is obvious how much you love them and thank God for them and enjoy every minute with them, but, seriously, Mo - you have every right to be tired - so please don't shut up or beat up on yo' self! So, good luck with the Shake - I will be sending you an e-mail - can't give much but something is better than nothing and I would love to receive a call and feel a part of this wonderful party for Jake - he is so proud! Believing in St. Louis. WOO HOOO, Jake Express keeps on rolling along.

Can you ask Lindsey what font she is using on GG's shirt or have her email me with the info? Tell her it is for a fellow Alabama girl! I have a embroidery machine and monogram wizard software on my laptop. I do shirts and stuff for my niece and I love that look. Thanks, Lisa

As cute as kids can be, yes they can be draining too. It'll get better.

Gabbi is too cute as is the monogram and the outfit. She'll be crawling like lightning before you know it.

Shake 4 Jake sounds like it will be a huge success.

Look at that baby! Holy cow, Melanie. She has come so far! So strong, and those arms are great!

Of course you are tired. Don't fret.

I cannot get over how adorable Gabbi Girl is, and even more, how quickly she is growing! She looks so happy.

Ahh, the tired. I understand. And it doesn't matter if you are at home or on the road, it is still tiring. Especially when they are in Mommy stage. We have four kids, but the youngest (from Guatemala) is the one who probably uses up 90% of the energy I have each day. He is very much a Mommy's boy. He is on my heels constantly (never had learned the fine art of playing alone...probably because the older kids are at his beck and call). And he LOVES to "help" the way yours does. My husband was gone this past weekend, and I was exhausted by the end because I had nobody to pass the baton onto! Anyway, just know you aren't alone.

I hope the Shake goes well! Keep us updated.

Oh my gosh, I had almost forgotten about that black, pink and white cuteness! Gabbi girl looks adorable in anything you put her in, but I'm a little partial to this one! ;))) Tell Lisa, I will check on that font and get back to you.....I can't wait for Shake and can't wait to meet everyone. There is one special reason I'm coming and that's to celebrate the amazing legacy a special little soul left us. It's about paying it forward and passing it on. Jake will certainly be celebrated this weekend and I can't wait for all the fun to begin! And Mo, I told you not to lift one cleaning product for my arrival! There is no need.....we're never going to be there anyway! I'll see yall tomorrow!

Love the beach pics. Especially the one from behind! You could come up w/ some catchy little saying and make it a Christmas card. I will have to tell my hubby about the golf tournament. So sorry you have to watch the Golf Channel too. How much more boring can it get?

Hey Mo - their is nothing traditional about your family, why would you expect some silly traditional family photo pose. I love the real life stuff that Masson shot. She is a photog in the making. If she can get a pic of the hellcat, she is doing a fine job. The pics of Ellie with the umbrella were adorable. Much better than regular old beach pics would be. And that Gabbi, how could anyone not smile when seeing that cutie pie. I have always prefered real life pictures to posed studio shots, and you can look back at these and tell your grandkids the stories behind them.

As for being tired, who wouldn't be. Vacation is hard work, and I never did it with two little fireballs in tow. You will get rested up when you get back into a work routine. Thanks for sharing your vacation with all of us that are spending the summer working and chasing our kids from one place to another.
